Curry debuts his brand new Curry 9 from Curry Brand
Warriors training camp kicked off Monday morning with Warriors media day, as it usually does around this time of year.
With a few uncertainties on the roster heading into camp and preseason, one certainty this year, however, was that the new Curry 9 sneaker from two-time league MVP, Stephen Curry, would be sizzling hot.
The second pair of the NBA icon’s signature shoes under his recently formed Curry Brand was finally debuted at media today in a social media post on Twitter. The post featured both Curry and Damion Lee dawning the sleek Curry 9 shoes while fully equipped in their Warriors jerseys. The images of the new kicks did not disappoint and were widely celebrated on various social media platforms by fans.
Lee sported a white/pink/purple colorway while Curry rocked a light blue/black colorway. Like the Curry 8, my guess is that we’ll see many different colorways in Curry’s latest signature shoe.
Without having tried them on personally yet, I would have to say, visually, these are my favorite Curry sneakers to date.
First off, I’m a big fan of the Curry Brand logo. It is aesthetically much nicer than the previous SC30 logo and much better than the standard Under Armour logo. The way the coloring of the upper bleeds into the midsole of the shoe is a great stylistic touch. And the way the collar dips low before coming all the way up really helps accentuate the curves of the shoe itself. I’m really looking forward to hooping in them.
Currently, there is no release date set for the Curry 9.
We’ll get to see them live in action as the Warriors host the Blazers a week from today, on October 4 at the Moda Center.
We’ll be tuned in to see if Curry will rock the same blue colorway as he did in media day or give us a fresh look at something new.
