Phil Mickelson hits nasty flop shot over a tense Steph Curry

The Workday Charity Classic golf event hosted by Stephen and Ayesha Curry kicked off early Friday morning at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.

The event aims to raise funds for the Curry family’s charity organization, Eat.Learn.Play., which serves to help end childhood hunger, ensure students have access to a quality education, and provides safe places for all children to play and be active.

In past years, there were celebrity cameos that made it out to the event such as Andre Iguodala, and others. This year, the field featured golf legend Phil Mickelson and retired NFL icon Peyton Manning, among others.

One of the more notable parts of the day came as Phil Mickelson had Curry directly in front of him and proceeded to hit a flop shot right over the three-time NBA champ’s head. Curry was a pretty good sport about the whole thing but he was admittedly a bit frazzled. Luckily for him, he had one of the greatest golfers to play the game attempting the stunt on him.

A pretty cool moment during a pretty cool event if you ask me.

There were more fun anecdotes throughout the day as well. Here is Manning trying out a flop shot of his own over a cardboard cutout of Mickelson, although his first attempt didn’t go as smoothly as Mickelson’s did.
