Warriors are betting favorites to land Ben Simmons in a trade

It’s no secret that Ben Simmons wants out of Philadelphia.

The 25-year-old point guard has reportedly let the 76ers organization know that he does not intend to report to training camp, according to Keith Pompey. Pompey said that Simmons’ preferred trade destinations are the “three California teams”, with one of those being Golden State.

On Tuesday, BetMGM sportsbook set their odds for the team to most likely land the lefty. Leading the league with the best odds to land Simmons are the Warriors, who are set as +300 favorites. The team with the second-best odds are the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are currently set at +400.

Ben Simmons Names California Teams as Target Destinations

The Ben Simmons saga just keeps getting more interesting. Early today, the Sixers’ star point guard was reported to be uninterested in playing for the team, to the extent that he ‘does not intend to report to training camp’. This news has a lot of implications for the West, especially considering an anonymous Western Conference exec’s statement that Simmons is targeting one of three top teams in California, those presumably being the Lakers, Clippers, and of course, the Warriors.

Former Nets player, Mike James, argues Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Devin Booker are more skilled than Stephen Curry

Well, here we are again.

It seems like every few weeks or so there is another either retired or current NBA player who subtly, or sometimes not so subtly, disrespects two-time league MVP, Stephen Curry. This time, that player is Mike James.

James, who played for the Brooklyn Nets last season, albeit for only 13 games, took to Twitter to debate fans on the topic of most skilled players. In a social media post from Clutch Points calling for the most skilled players of all time, James quote tweeted the post saying he believes Kyrie Irving deserved to be on the list. The original list didn’t contain Curry’s name. This prompted another user to message James asking him why he didn’t mention Curry’s name, in which James responded by saying he felt Kyrie was a more skilled player than Curry, and that Curry was just a better shooter.

Grading the Warriors' Off-Season Moves

The Warriors have had a busy off-season thus far. They drafted two players in the lottery, then got right to work in free agency. Even though they haven’t been flashy, the moves they have made thus far were gaudy enough to catch the attention of Las Vegas bettors, as they currently have the fourth-best pre-season odds to win the 2022 NBA championship, behind the Brooklyn Nets, LA Lakers, and Milwaukee Bucks.

The main question that the Warriors’ front office needed to answer during this offseason was this: can they do enough to maximize their current championship window with Steph, Klay, and Draymond, while simultaneously building for the future? Let’s take a closer look.

Warriors to work out Darren Collison for possible return to NBA

It’s pretty clear that the Golden State Warriors are not quite finished making — or attempting to make — offseason free agency moves.

Just a little over a week ago, Warriors GM Bob Myers mentioned the team’s need for a guard during media availability.

So it isn’t shocking that the Warriors are planning to work out retired, 34-year old point guard Darren Collison, according to a report from Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes.
