Last Year's Curry, Wiggins Duo Was Dynamic

We’re all aware of Steph Curry’s insane 2020-2021 NBA season. Steph won the scoring title and took the Warriors to one win away from the playoffs, despite missing Klay Thompson for the whole season and not having James Wiseman and Kelly Oubre Jr. down the stretch.

Many of us (and maybe rightly so) attribute the Warriors’ success last year solely to Steph Curry, but did you know that the highest scoring duo in the whole NBA last year belonged to the Warriors? No, the highest scoring duo wasn’t Beal and Wesbrook, Tatum and Brown, or even Giannis and Khris Middleton—it was Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins. Together, Curry and Wiggins combined for a total of 3,335 points, edging the Beal, Wesbrook duo by 12 points.

Curry’s Leadership Highlighted in Revisiting of Green-Durant Feud

The biggest Warriors-related news this week came in the form of a discussion. Draymond Green and Kevin Durant had a sit-down conversation for the first time since Durant left Golden State in free agency in 2019. Appearing together on Green’s Bleacher Report series “Chips,” they discussed a wide range of topics such as Durant’s career, his use of Twitter and, most notably, their argument after a 2018 road game against the Los Angeles Clippers and the subsequent fallout that many people now consider the starting point for the end of Durant’s time in the Bay Area.

Fans are now very well aware of his dunking abilities and explosiveness but there's so much more to his game that is coming to light.

Durant and Green Blame Team Brass for Feud Aftermath

Kevin Durant and Draymond Green finally sat down to air out their dirty laundry on Green’s show “Chips”, breaking down their November 2018 end-of-game feud in Staples Center.

And as speculated, they believed the blame lay with Warriors’ brass – not necessarily the animated Green – in the events preceding Durant’s leaving the team.

Durant blamed Steve Kerr and Bob Myers for trying to move on quickly from the argument, and felt like the team needed to share its grievances just like the Chicago Bulls had done in “The Last Dance” when Scottie Pippen refused to take the floor late in a game.

First Look at the 2021-2022 Warriors Season Schedule

The NBA has done a preliminary schedule release outlining a few of the major games that will come in the first half of the season, most notably Opening Night and Christmas Day. The Warriors will be involved in both affairs, playing the Los Angeles Lakers in both a play-in rematch and a possible playoff preview for the opener. The home opener will see the franchise rival Los Angeles Clippers coming to Chase Center, and the Dubs will be facing off against long-time Warriors nemesis Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns on Christmas Day, per The Athletic’s Anthony Slater. All three matchups are solid looks at how the team will be setting the tone early in the season, as all are against the West’s top dogs when at full strength.
