Panthers' Jeremy Chinn honors Stephen Curry, wears his Davidson jersey to game

Carolina Panthers free safety, Jeremy Chinn, FaceTimed two-time NBA MVP, Stephen Curry, on Saturday to inform him that he will be pulling up to his first regular-season home game on Sunday wearing Curry’s red Davidson College jersey.

Chinn is wearing the jersey’s of “Carolina legends” all season long for home games, and started his first regular-season home game off with a ‘‘BANG!” with the iconic red number 30 Davidson jersey.

Curry, who is a Panthers superfan, grew up in Charlotte and turned himself into a household name during his legendary Elite-8 March Madness run.

The second-year player is combining his show of respect for the legendary sports figures of Carolina with his philanthropy by auctioning off each jersey for charity. He already donned the jersey’s of Julius Peppers and Muggsy Bogues, the latter who played alongside Curry’s father, Dell, with the Hornets.

The inspiration for Chinn to honor the Carolina legends must have sparked from a similar gesture from Curry. During the final stretch of regular-season home games at Oracle Arena, just before Golden State’s move to Chase Center in San Francisco, the Chef began "Operation honor the [goats] of Oracle Arena.” A similar initiative in which Curry wore a legendary Warriors players’ jersey.

I great gesture from Chinn, who is a huge fan of Curry’s, to rock his College jersey to honor him, while also giving back.
