2006 Adidas Superstar Warriors Edition, $20 Marshall’s pick-up!

Back in 2006, Adidas released the NBA Superstar Series. All 30 teams had their own unique Adidas Superstar dressed in various materials from suede, patent leather, reflective, clear stripes, embossed logos and reptile skin as seen on this Golden State Warriors version. Never been an Adidas guy but throw me anything Warriors themed, I’m in.

Released at the height of the We Believe era, these shoes were seen on ball boys, warriors staff members and team mascot, Thunder. These didn’t too well when they released and sat on shelves for quite awhile but I was lucky enough to find this pair at Marshall’s for $20 back in the day. Side note, Marshall’s back then was the sleeper spot to come up on some lightweight sneaker gems.

As much as I love what the Warriors are doing now with this crazy superteam and historic run, nothing will ever compare to the excitement and energy Oakland brought to the Oracle during the We Believe years. Fans literally stood up the entire game and would lose their minds with every posession. Seeing a sea of yellow shirts fill the whole arena, celebrities included, and not being able to hear anything gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. I’m proud to say i’ve lived through this era of Warriors basketball. From RUN TMC, to the super rough early 2000’s where being a 500. team seemed impossible, to The We Believe era and to where we are at now. 3 Championships in the last 4 years. WHAT.A.TIME.

Please Nike…release these jerseys again. How crazy would it be to see the current Warriors roster in We Believe jerseys. I believe that alone would bring the 2007 Oakland out to the Roaracle once again.
